This collection contains court records from the island of Madeira in Portugal from the mid 18th century onwards. Records may contain the name of each individual pertaining to the lawsuit, the name of any organization involved in the lawsuit, the date or approximate date, the parish within Madeira and the name of the court.<br><br>Records may also contain additional information such as the type or classification of the court record, as well as box, document, and case numbers that reference the physical records.<br><br>The records in this collection were made public by the <a href="https://abm.madeira.gov.pt/judiciais-1889-1932/" target="blank">Arquivo Regional e Biblioteca Pública da Madeira (ABM)</a>.
